Setting up AdobeSign for your Josef bots

This guide explains how to connect AdobeSign to Josef so your bots can draft and send agreements for signature on behalf of your users. Agreements generated from Josef are created from your user's AdobeSign account. Users will be able to review the drafts in AdobeSign, or send directly to signees from Josef.

Setup steps

Step 1: Confirm Account Admin access

Identify who in your organisation has Account Admin privileges in AdobeSign. All subsequent steps require this access.

Step 2: Create an API application

In Adobe Sign, go to Account > Adobe Sign API > API Applications and click Create. Configure the following:

  • Name: Josef NCAP Integration
  • Redirect URI: https://oauth2.eu-west-1.prismatic.io/callback

Recommended scopes:

  • user_login:account
  • agreement_write:account
  • agreement_send:account
  • agreement_read:account
  • user_read:account

Save the application to generate a Client ID and Client Secret.

Step 3: Confirm your data shard (region)

Check the URL when logged into Adobe Sign to identify your region:

  • na1 — North America
  • eu1 — Europe
  • au1 — Australia
  • jp1 — Japan
  • or other

Step 4: Send AdobeSign details Josef

Please securely share the following with your Josef contact (if you're not sure who this is, please reach out to support@joseflegal.com).

  • Client ID — generated when you create the API application
  • Client Secret — generated alongside the Client ID
  • Data shard / region — na1, eu1, au1, jp1 or other; visible in your Adobe Sign URL

Step 5: Complete the one-time OAuth authorisation

Your Josef contact will provide an OAuth link. The Account Admin follows the link and completes the prompts to grant permissions to Josef to trigger your AdobeSign integrations.

Integration configuration and testing

After the steps above are completed, the Josef team will configure your integration as per requirements that you've discussed with your Customer Success Manager. The final step will be for you to test the integration to make sure it's working as expected!
