AI data extraction

AI extraction for easier, faster form completion.

Your users may already have the information you're asking them for — it's sitting in a file on their desktop or mobile. Josef's AI extraction engine reads that file and fills in the form for them!

Meeting notes, transcripts, court documents, signed contracts, a photo of a handwritten form: upload it, and Josef pulls out the relevant details and drops them into the right questions. A form that took ten minutes takes one! A natural fit for intake and document generation bots.

How this works

1. Users upload a file at the start of the bot.
2. Josef reads it and fills in every question it can answer.
3. Users reviews the answers, fixes anything that needs fixing, and completes the interaction.

Which responses can Josef fill in?

Currently, Josef can prefill the following response types:

• text
• full name
• email
• phone
• address
• number
• currency
• percentage
• single choice - text
• single choice - scoring 
• multiple choice
  

Not yet supported:

• date
• duration
• api request
• file upload

Supported files

.DOCX, PDF, PNG and JPEG, up to 1MB.

Additional feature notes

• Live bots only: AI extraction is only available in live bot interactions. It is not available in bot preview mode. 
• Looping logic: bots with looping logic can use AI data extraction, however looped questions will not be automatically populated.
• Saved interaction links: if a user returns to a saved interaction and uploads a new file, Josef only fills in the questions still blank. Existing answers stay exactly as they left them.

How to enable this feature 

Open your bot's Design tab, confirm the bot is set to Form, and flick the AI extraction toggle. Repeat for each bot you want it on.
