# Edit a document

### You can edit a document in the **Word editor** or the **Web editor**.

The Word editor is for .docx documents you have uploaded and automated on Josef. Whereas the Web editor is for documents you have built from scratch on Josef. 

To edit a document, 

1. Open your bot via the **Dashboard**,
2. In **Flowchart** or **List view**, select the relevant document message,
3. In the **Edit message** sidebar, click **Edit document**. This will then take you to either the Word or Web editor.
