Introduction to Josef Q's Microsoft Teams integration
With the Josef Q Teams integration, you can:
- Add Josef Q tools to your Teams channel(s)
- Add Josef Q tools to a Teams bot
- Ask questions to Josef Q tools and receive answers in Teams
- Engage with the Ask page experience directly in Teams

Please follow the steps below to install Josef Q to your Teams environment.
Add Josef Q to your Microsoft Teams environment
First, head to the Microsoft Teams Store (AppSource) and search for 'Josef Q' to install Josef Q to your Teams environment. Follow the prompts to install Josef Q.
Please share your Teams tenant ID with your Josef account manager. This is required to enable the integration. You can find the Teams tenant ID by simply copying and sharing your Teams link with us.

Add Josef Q tools to a Teams bot
You can connect Josef Q tools to a Teams bot so that users can have 1:1 conversations with Josef Q.
First, decide which tools you want to connect to your Teams bot. All users in your Teams organisation will be able to access the tools connected to your bot.
To connect a Josef Q tool to your Teams bot, head to your Teams application:
- Open up your installed apps.
- Select 'Josef Q' and click 'Open'.
- The Josef Q Teams bot should now appear in your side-panel and also a user under your Chats.
- In the Chat, enter 'connect'.

Follow the prompt and enter your tool ID. You can locate your tool ID by following these steps:
- Log into your Josef Q Dashboard.
- Select the tool you want to connect.
- Head into the Settings tab.
- In the browser address bar, you'll see a unique ID in the link, e.g.: https://q.joseflegal.com/dashboard/1237881b-d2e5-497e-ad42-3fd200d5cxyz/test/general
- The bolded value is your tool ID.
- Note: please publish your tool before connecting it to Teams.
Add your tool ID into the prompt and hit Connect to complete connecting your tool.
If you want to add another tool, simply enter 'connect' and repeat the process. With your Josef Q Teams bot, you can connect up to 15 tools.
Add Josef Q tools to your Teams channel(s)
You should decide which Josef Q tool should be connected to your Team's channels. Each Teams channel can be connected to a single Josef Q tool.
To connect a Josef Q tool to a channel, simply head to the channel you want to use and type a new post "@Josef Q connect".

Follow the prompt and enter your tool ID. You can locate your tool ID by following these steps:
- Log into your Josef Q Dashboard.
- Select the tool you want to connect.
- Head into the Settings tab.
- In the browser address bar, you'll see a unique ID in the link, e.g.: https://q.joseflegal.com/dashboard/1237881b-d2e5-497e-ad42-3fd200d5cxyz/test/general
- The bolded value is your tool ID.
- Note: please publish your tool before connecting it to Teams.
Add your tool ID into the prompt and hit Connect to complete connecting your tool.
Ask a question to your tool in Teams

Once your tool is conected to a channel, you can ask it questions directly in Teams. To do this, simply create a new post and type "@Josef Q <insert your question here>". Josef Q will receive your question and an answer will be returned to you in the Teams channel.
For the Josef Q Teams Bot, you do not need to type @Josef Q to ask a question. Simply ask a question directly to the bot and Josef Q will respond!

Disconnect a tool from your Teams channel or Teams Bot
Please note only a Josef Q Admin can disconnect bots from channels or the Teams bot.
If you want to disconnect a tool from your Teams channel, follow these steps:
- Enter the Teams channel you want to disconnect a tool from.
- Create a new post "@JosefQ disconnect".
- Follow the prompts to disconnect the tool.
- If a tool is disconnected, users in the channel will no longer be able to ask questions to that tool unless you reconnect the tool again.
If you want to disconnect a tool from your Teams bot, simply enter 'disconnect' in the Teams bot chat and follow the prompts.

- provide user feedback on answers
When I have multiple tools connected to a channel or bot, how do I change the name of the available topics in Microsoft Teams?
You can update the topic name by updating the name of your tool in Josef Q. The topic name matches the name of your tool.
